Gîte du Pavillon de la lanterne - vue sur la vallée de Rochecorbon

Location

The gîte is located in the heart of the historic village of Rochecorbon, which has been awarded the “Petites Cités de Caractère” label. Here, you can explore the Loire-side hillsides and troglodytic houses, hike through the vineyards and visit wine cellars (Rochecorbon is one of the 8 communes of the Vouvray appellation), walk or bike along the banks of the Loire (a path takes you as far as Tours), or watch the Loire in a traditional boat and have a drink at the Guinguette…

Within walking distance of the gîte, you’ll find bakeries, small grocery stores, a small Saturday morning farmers’ market and several restaurants.

The gîte is easily accessible by car (A10, A28 and A85 motorways), train (TGV station – Paris 50 mns) or plane (Tours-Val-de-Loire airport).

It’s an excellent base for visiting the châteaux of the Loire Valley : Amboise, Chenonceau, Villandry, Azay-le-Rideau (15 to 30 km), Tours and the towns of Loches and Chinon.

For children, Beauval Zoo is just 30 mns away.

Many activities are on offer : canoeing down the Loire, hot-air ballooning over the châteaux, hiking, Loire biking, visits to winegrowers’ cellars…

For golf enthusiasts, Golf d’Ardrée and Golf de Touraine (Ballan-Miré) are ¼ hour away.
